Our music mix is fairly broad and covers the 80′s, 90′s, 00′s and 10′s with music in a large numbers of genres but primarily focused on Alternative, Electronic, Pop, Indie and Rock. We also include a small percentage of foreign music including French, Dutch, German, Swedish and Czech. Overall, and despite the extremely varied mix, after listening to the station for a while a song you hear will start to have a ‘CruiseOne sound’. I never expected this to be the case but am quite proud of the fact that a station with massive variety can have such a unique sound. Remember, some stations limit their playlist to e.g. 500 songs…we have 10,000 songs at any one time with old / unwanted tracks being purged as new material is added.
With the exception of chart songs, all new music will be added as a complete album. All album tracks will receive equal weighting and airplay so you will hear a big variety of tracks from a new artist rather than just what Radio 1 happen to be playing at the moment (no offence to Radio 1). At times, an album will be queued in it’s entirety and played back to back in the correct order. Hearing all songs from artists is something that is of paramount importance to everyone at CruiseOne.
