THE DISAPPOINTING IPHONE ANNIVERSARY
Jumping on the bandwagon of the social media rush following the Apple iPhone announcements, these are my honest and possibly a little brutal first thoughts in the new iPhone 8 and iPhone X announced in September 2017.
I don’t have a device to hold and, based on my initial impressions, I’m not sure I ever will.
The public were expecting a revolutionary and innovative handset for the 10th anniversary but we’re not there anymore. The smartphone market is becoming run of the mill and predictable. It almost feels like when kitchen or bathroom cleaners put, ‘New and Improved Formula’ on their products. Nothing has really changed but they have to do something to maintain the public eye on their products.
I don’t anticipate anyone rushing for the iPhone 8. Those die hard fans who always want the best of the best will naturally wait for the iPhone X but I’m truthfully not sure how many will bother with that. I’m sure it’ll do fine. There are plenty of people with too much money out there. The problem is, fine is not really good enough in the smartphone market.
