NVMe Transfer Speeds Tests - Project PC Build
NVMe vs. SSD vs. HDD
I'm not trying to do anything scientific here. The tests in this video are crude but still give a good real life usage scenario.

Having recently invested in a new video editing PC, I naturally included a couple of NVMe drives in that build. I was curious to find out how well they perform when put up against hard drives (HDD). These are the old spinning drives which are still widely used because of their reliability and low cost per GB. I also tested a mid-range solid state drive (SSD) from a few years ago.
In short, NVMe performance is blisteringly fast compared to HDD and SSD. However, I also discuss whether or not this raw speed has any real advantages. Speed is, of course, always good but will you really see a difference? For example, I think people believe that the boot time into Windows will drop enormously when using NVMe drives. Is this the case?
