PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE
As well as unboxing and reviewing the radio, I also look at the programming software.
Recently Retevis have locked down the ability to change the EU 0.5W output power of their PMR446 radios. This video shows you how you can edit the programming software profile to change the frequency and output power.
Remember that doing so will mean the radio is no longer legal to use in the EU, but the option is there if you wish.
This is a link to the programming software used in this video. It is hosted on TDCat and already has the Chinese characters removed from the executable that will otherwise prevent the software from running. The newest version can be found on the Retevis website but watch out for that problem.
